The tour starts and finishes in Paris, so a straightforward return flight works. Arrive the day before if you can — Day 1 begins in the morning and there is no slack in it.

This tour departs every week, year-round, so you pick your week rather than waiting for a date to come round. Book at least 14 days before departure. Tell us the week and we will confirm the departure day and hold seats against a deposit — the coach fills from several markets, so summer and the Christmas weeks go early.
The coach covers roughly 5,600 km in fifteen days. It is a genuinely fast-moving trip — several days involve four or five hours on the coach, and a few of the listed stops are photo stops rather than visits, which the day-by-day below says plainly where it applies. If you would rather spend three days in Paris than fifteen days seeing eleven countries, say so and we will build you something else instead.

A leisurely cruise along the Seine, beneath the Eiffel Tower and past Notre-Dame and the Pont Alexandre III — the quickest way to get the shape of the city.
After lunch, the Louvre: the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the Mona Lisa. A guided gallery tour is optional and covers far more ground than wandering.
The Louvre caps daily entry, and the price changed in January 2026. Non-EEA visitors now pay €32 (EEA residents €22). Book ahead at ticketlouvre.fr — the itinerary allows 13:00–14:00 for it.
Evening: either a French four-course dinner and show, or shopping at Galeries Lafayette under its stained-glass dome. Both optional.

Luxembourg

Out of Paris through the rolling countryside of the Champagne region, which produces the only sparkling wine allowed to use the name.
Reims Cathedral — a national heritage site, and where French kings were crowned from the 11th century onwards.
On to Luxembourg City, the world's only remaining Grand Duchy, built across a deep gorge.
A walking introduction to the Place de la Constitution and the Pont Adolphe, then free time.

Frankfurt

Luxembourg → Trier → Koblenz → Frankfurt GUIDED
Across the border into Germany and into Trier, the country's oldest city and Karl Marx's birthplace — his house is seen from the outside.
The cathedral holds the Holy Robe, said to be the tunic of Christ, displayed only occasionally. Trier was called the Second Rome, and the Porta Nigra is the best-preserved Roman city gate north of the Alps.
On to Koblenz, where the Rhine and the Mosel meet. Lunch by the water, and an optional Rhine cruise.
The road onward passes through the wine town of Rüdesheim, traffic and road conditions permitting.
Finish at Frankfurt's Römerberg, the medieval square with its stepped-gable town hall.
Optional post-hotel: if chosen, the overnight is in Frankfurt or a city nearby.

Prague

A scenic run through classic German countryside and over the Czech border. This is the longest sit of the first week.
Arrive in Prague in the evening — the city itself waits until tomorrow morning.
Czechia is not on the euro. The currency is the koruna; card payment is near-universal but you will want a little cash.

Bratislava

The Royal Route on foot, following the coronation path of the kings of Bohemia, starting from the top of Castle Hill in Hradčany.
Prague Castle — the seat of Bohemian royalty since the 9th century and the largest ancient castle complex in the world — with St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica and Golden Lane.
Across Charles Bridge and through the alleys to the Old Town Square, for the City Hall and the Astronomical Clock.
Lunch in the square, then the transfer to Bratislava.

A short morning run into Hungary and Budapest — two cities joined at the river, Buda on the west bank and Pest on the east.
A Danube river cruise is the optional many people take, and it is the best way to see how the two halves fit together.
Lunch at Buda Palace, with the Budapest History Museum and the Hungarian National Gallery in the same building.
The Buda side on foot: Fisherman's Bastion, the medieval Matthias Church, and up Gellért Hill for the view. Over in Pest, Heroes' Square and the riverside Parliament Building.
Evening: an optional dinner of goose liver, goulash and duck leg with Hungarian folkdance and music.
Hungary uses the forint, not the euro. Overnight in Budapest or a city nearby, minimum 3★.

Vienna

A short journey to Vienna, and straight to Schönbrunn Palace, the Rococo summer residence of the Habsburgs.
After lunch, a driving tour past the City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the Hofburg and Heroes' Square.
Afternoon shopping, then the Wiener Staatsoper, St Stephen's Cathedral, and a walk in the Stadtpark with its gilded Johann Strauss II.
The Viennese waltz concert is the optional we would actually recommend — Mozart and Strauss played where they were written.

Mondsee, a town on the lake of the same name, with a medieval abbey whose cloister church was the wedding location in The Sound of Music.

Or skip the walking and find a beer garden, which is a defensible use of a Bavarian afternoon.

A photo stop in Vaduz, capital of Liechtenstein — boutiques, the Huber watch shop, and one of the smallest countries in Europe ticked off.
On to Engelberg for Mount Titlis. Three gondolas to the top, the last of them the Titlis Rotair, the world's first revolving cable car. At the summit: the sun terrace, the glacier, and Europe's highest suspension bridge.
The Titlis ascent is optional and it is the biggest single extra on this tour — around CHF 102 return. Worth budgeting for deliberately: it is the reason many people book the Swiss leg.
Lucerne next: a city of bridges and towers, with the Lion Monument that Mark Twain called the most mournful piece of stone in the world. Good for watches and chocolate.
On to Zurich for the night. Switzerland uses the franc, not the euro, and is markedly more expensive than anywhere else on the route.

A local guide for the morning. A waterbus across the lagoon to San Marco — the crossing itself is half the pleasure.
The Basilica di San Marco, then the Bridge of Sighs, which connects the old prison to the Doge's Palace interrogation rooms.
A Murano glassblowing demonstration, and the optional almost everyone takes: a gondola through the back canals.
Transfer to Rome in the afternoon. At 550 km this is the longest leg of the tour — expect to arrive in the evening.

Begin at Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. St Peter's Basilica has stood here almost 1,700 years.
The Sistine Chapel is a separate ticket and not part of the basilica visit — €20 plus a €5 booking fee, and St Peter's itself is free. Decide before the morning, not during it.
The Colosseum next, then the Arch of Constantine beside it, and the Victor Emmanuel II Monument that honours the king who unified Italy.
Afternoon: north into Tuscany to Arezzo.

Start above Florence at Piazzale Michelangelo, with the red roofs, the Arno and the old walls laid out below.
A leather-working demonstration in a local workshop, then a guided walk past the Ponte Vecchio, the Piazza del Duomo, the Campanile and the Uffizi.
Free time to see more, shop, or sit outside a café, then on to Pisa for the Leaning Tower, the cathedral and the baptistery in the Square of Miracles.
Transfer in the late evening to a city near Genoa. Note: the tour does not visit Genoa itself — it is a bed for the night.

A drive along one of the most famous stretches of Mediterranean coastline anywhere, into Monaco in the afternoon.
A walking tour to the Prince's Palace, then the 1920s courthouse, the cliffside Oceanographic Museum, and the cathedral where Grace Kelly is buried.
A stop at a perfume factory inland — this part of France is known for it — then lunch in Nice.
On to Cannes for the Palais des Festivals and the red carpet, then west to Avignon.
Note: the tour overnights near Avignon rather than visiting it — the papal palace is not on the itinerary.

A long, restful day watching the French countryside change on the way north.
Paris, and the end of the tour. At 700 km this is the single longest drive — do not book a flight home for the same afternoon.
Add a night in Paris at the end if you can. Fifteen days and eleven countries is a lot to absorb, and one unhurried day at the finish is the cheapest improvement you can make to this trip.

How this tour works. Tell us the week you want → we hold your seats against a deposit → we confirm the departure date, the hotel list and the final price → your documents and vouchers arrive by email before you fly. This is a scheduled group tour that departs weekly, sharing a coach with travellers from several markets — so you join on the set departure day of your chosen week rather than any day you like. If you want the same route privately on your own dates, ask and we will price it separately.
Seasonal pricing.Weekly departures, one price. This is an escorted coach tour running every week year-round, and the fare above does not move with the season — a January departure and a July one cost the same. What does change is how quickly a week sells: summer and the Christmas period fill first, and winter departures are the quietest coaches. The price above is the twin-share rate. Travelling alone costs US$2,750 — the US$1,800 plus a US$950 single supplement for sole occupancy across all fourteen nights, a little over $65 a night. That is what a room costs whether one person or two are in it.
