Days 1–4
01
Kuala Lumpur
Show route

Phnom Penh ✈ Kuala Lumpur GUIDED

  • Meet at Phnom Penh International Airport and fly to Kuala Lumpur.
  • Our guide meets the group at the airport.
  • Dinner, then out to the Twin Towers for photographs.
  • The Petronas Towers stand over KLCC park, which is where the photographs are usually taken from.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Johor Bahru
Show route

Kuala Lumpur → Johor Bahru GUIDED

  • Breakfast, then a morning round central Kuala Lumpur.
  • The Independence Monument, the National Monument, the royal palace and the old railway station. The old station is a Moorish-revival building and is no longer the city’s main terminus.
  • On to Batu Caves. A Hindu shrine in a limestone cave at the top of 272 painted steps — shoulders and knees covered, and sarongs are lent at the foot.
  • Time to shop, then lunch.
  • Up to Genting Highlands, the hill resort and casino complex. The ascent is by cable car.
  • Genting sits at around 1,800 metres and is markedly cooler than Kuala Lumpur — 16–23°C, and often in cloud. Take a layer.
  • Dinner, then the hotel in Johor Bahru. It is a long day on the coach: Genting is north of Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru is well to the south of it.
03
Johor Bahru
Show route

Johor Bahru → Singapore → Johor Bahru GUIDED

  • Breakfast, then across into Singapore. You clear immigration in both directions, so keep your passport on you rather than in the coach hold.
  • Parliament, the Supreme Court and City Hall.
  • The Esplanade and Gardens by the Bay. Gardens by the Bay is the waterfront park with the Supertree grove; the Esplanade is the performing-arts centre along the water from it.
  • Time in the duty-free shops, then lunch.
  • Sentosa in the afternoon. Sentosa is the resort island off Singapore’s south coast.
  • Then Marina Bay Sands. The light and water show on the promenade in front of it runs after dark.
  • Dinner, then back across to the hotel in Johor Bahru.

Departure
Show route

Kuala Lumpur ✈ Phnom Penh GUIDED

  • Breakfast, then check out.
  • The drive back north to Kuala Lumpur. Timings for this leg are confirmed with your departure.
  • A last look round Kuala Lumpur, stopping at a chocolate shop and a shop selling local products.
  • Lunch, then to the airport.
  • The flight home to Phnom Penh.
  • Leave a little room in the bag — both of the morning’s stops are shopping stops.

Restaurants worth trying

Your meals are already included, so none of these are arranged by us and you would pay for them yourself. They are simply places we rate, near where the tour goes. Tick any you are curious about and they appear on the map.

Suggested, not included. Opening hours and prices are theirs, not ours — and a place that is busy at eight will be busy whether or not you booked through us.

    Tour Price

A package is priced for the group, not the seat. The date and the price are confirmed together, once enough people are travelling on the same dates. What the price always covers is below.

    Included
    • 3 nights’ accommodation
    • Three meals a day, unless a day above says otherwise
    • A tour leader travelling with the group throughout
    • A local professional guide at each destination
    • All transport, entrance fees and the activities listed on each day above
    • Return flights from Phnom Penh, travelling together as a group
    Not included
    • travel insurance
    • tips
    • drinks and anything personal
    • a visa where your passport needs one
How a package tour works. Tell us roughly when you want to go → we put you together with others travelling around the same time → once about 10 of you are going we confirm the departure date and the exact price → a deposit holds your seats → your documents arrive by email before you fly. You travel together the whole way, with the tour leader alongside you.

Seasonal pricing. High season costs more everywhere on this list — and for Japan and Korea the cherry blossom and autumn weeks are the dearest of the year. Your quote will show the exact figure for your dates.

Budget separately for: travel insurance · tips · drinks and anything personal · a visa where your passport needs one

Tell us who you are and when you want to go. We’ll reply within a business day with the price and what’s available. A deposit holds it, and comes back in full if we can’t get your dates.

Prices are per person, twin share. One person to a room costs the single supplement shown above. Under 2s normally travel free — tell us in the box below.
